Even visitors from Thailand have
beenhappily surprised that the cuisine
is not westernized. Like the city for
which is it named, Bangkok Five offers
inspired Thai cuisine that is fresh,
original and authentic. Juxtaposing
hot, spicy tastes with soothing earthiness,
experience the flavors of lime, coconut,
peanuts, lemongrass and bamboo shoots
contrasted with curry, chili, ginger
and cilantro. Prepared fresh to order,
let your server know your heat tolerance
on a scale of one to 10.
Bangkok Five’s square geometric architecture features a copper roof, volcanic
rock and teak slatted shutters. With lofty beamed ceilings, dining and bar area
surround a stone-paved atrium accessed by 16-foot glass doors. Each area can
be sequestered for private parties, with receptions or outdoor dining in the
atrium.
Clay-colored walls are softly illuminated by Wabi Sabi, weathered rice paper
and wood lanterns. White linen-clad tables are pin spot-lit and centered with
